Q & A

What is your design background?

I am a textile and soft furnishings specialist. Creating and making runs through my blood - my mother was a constant inspiration growing up. She pushed me to imagine new ideas and make wonderful things from all sorts of materials, up cycling furniture; quilting; piping; appliqué; collage, to name a few.  I now apply my ideas to modern-day projects, and look for any opportunity to bring my vibrant style and ideas to homes and interiors.

What industry experience do you have?  

I have worked with wig and prosthetic design for Blockbuster productions, costume design and set making in Bristol, UK. I also have sign writing skills and a love for typography; wedding personalisation, exterior signage and restaurant way-finding systems and branding.

I was led into fabrics for interiors through my textiles knowledge and sewing expertise. I have a keen eye for beautiful living spaces, where I have consulted on dressing homes and commercial spaces.

What sort of projects do you enjoy most? 

I have a keen eye for up-cycling, and finding the treasure in the trash!  Giving unique vintage items new life.  

I'm particularly good at furnishing children’s rooms, making their space feel soft, friendly and useable. For example, creating interior accents such as bespoke mobiles, personalised bunting, pretty furniture, soft furnishing design, shelving and storage solutions. Kids rooms don’t have to be messy - organising their spaces makes me, and the parents, very content.

What is your role in the CDC?

I am a co-founder of the Chamonix Design Collective - a project which gathers together the wealth of creative expertise in the Chamonix valley. Here, I am an interior designer and advise as textiles specialist.
